In Worship

St. Luke youth are regular participants in the worship service. Along with adults, they in turn serve as liturgists assisting the minister in the leadership of Sunday worship. Adults and youth are included as readers during special services such as our annual Tennebrae service on Good Friday and our Service of Lessons and Carols on Christmas Eve. Youth serve as ushers and in receiving the weekly offering. The younger kids serve as Acolytes; lighting the candles at the start of each Sunday worship service. The members of SLY periodically offer special presentations such as dramatic readings, choral and instrument music, etc.

Each year the youth of St. Luke take complete responsibility for planning and leading on Youth Sunday. A high school senior is chosen by her/his peers to deliver the sermon for that Sunday.
